Wasn't happy with the way Chichester station was turning out, so i started again, street level still needs to be modelled but decided i'd start doing some texturing, texture looks a Little dull, those are black glass panels and should be more reflective, need to find how i can brighten things up, part of the learning curve i guess.

Done a bit more work on Chichester Station, track level is modelled, will need a site visit to see how things transition to street level.

The second station down the line is Chichester, this is quite a complex station to model, half buried in the ground with the ticket area directly above the track at street level, i am trying to create this as one model rather than a load of boxes stuck together, hopefully this give a better quality model in the end.
I have decided I will begin by creating the stations, i have begun with South Shields Station, so far this has been modelled with photographs found on the Internet and Google Earth, to carry on with this i will need to visit the station and have a good look around and take a few photos myself.

Route Markers Ext

This Second Screenshot Shows the trackwork around the Tyne Dock area, Tyne Dock Station is to the right of the picture, Jarrow Station to the left and straight ahead is Tyne dock itself. This will allow Freight movement around the map as well as passengers, iron ore is accepted here as well as other things, at Jarrow there is also a fuel terminal and some metro stations interchange with mainline passenger services so should be the whole deal. The metro system has its own unique stock which when i am more proficient at modelling i hope to model.

Route Markers

I have been busy creating route markers in Google Earth, and getting in to the Sim, so far i have imported markers from South Shields to the tunnel at Gateshead Stadium, included will be the Main and Freight lines that follow and merge with the metro system in places, the metro lines can be seen in yellow, mainlines in blue. In the first screenshot you can see where Pelaw Station will lie, straight ahead the mainline joins the Sunderland branch of the metro, this is the only part of the system which is shared with other traffic, mainline freight and passenger services run the same track as the metro trains as far as Sunderland before splitting up again. The picture is looking away from Gateshead and the line heading off the left of the picture is the branch to South Shields.

Tyne and Wear Metro

Hi, I have been using Rail simulator since its release on and off, after plenty of messing around i have decided i would like to have a crack at my local light rail system, the Tyne and Wear Metro. This railway serves the north east of England covering the cities of Newcastle, Sunderland and the town of Gateshead. My interest with trains lies only with simulations, you wont find me sitting on a cold wet platform taking numbers, i just find it fills my spare time up and i am interested in 3D modelling and this project will be a learning curve for me as i learn about modelling and route creation using Rail Simulator.
